All this week has been cool and rainy, and last night was the coldest so far. Yoli and I both woke in the night. I was having some trouble breathing, but I made some chamomile tea and after a while I got back to sleep.
Today has proved to be warmer. After breakfast we headed downtown to visit the post office and the Plaza.
I was surprised how small the post office was. It’s the only one in the city. We bought a few postcards to send, filled them out, then paid for stamps. The lady says they will take 2 weeks to get to the U.S., so I suppose we will beat them home.
The Plaza was nice as usual, though the overcast skies meant no blue background for photos. The kids had fun playing with the hordes of pigeons everywhere. Yoli bought a little bag of candied peanuts which were delicious. I strolled around taking photos of the Catedral San Lorenzo.
We were hoping to go up a __mirador__ or two, but they were all closed. We may give that another try on Monday if there is time.
Back home the kids spent some time climbing trees before lunch (leftovers from yesterday’s fish lunch).
